«The working group of Stephan Denifl investigates fundamental reactions in atoms, molecules and clusters induced by scattering from low-energy-electrons. Mass spectrometry is used to detect the negatively or positively charged products resulting from electron induced reactions. Low-energy electron scattering is a fundamental process that is important in a wide range of research fields. One major line of research represents the study of biologically relevant molecules, since low energy electrons are an important species in radiation damage of biological matter. Another research topic is based on the investigation of electron scattering from doped clusters. By studying different clusters matrices, the effect of solvation on electron induced reactions is studied.»
