Science Dissemination

CEFITEC was actively involved in several outreach activities aimed at pre-university students, providing opportunities to explore science and engineering and gain first-hand contact with scientific research. These activities included summer schools, such as Academia Quantum, an initiative of the Physics Department of FCT NOVA designed to introduce young people to the scientific research carried out within the department, as well as the Ciência Viva internship Research and Development in Physical Engineering. Through this internship, students can engage in hands-on activities in physical engineering, exploring both the fundamental principles of classical physics and recent developments in modern physics. The laboratory activities are closely connected to research areas of the Physics Department at FCT NOVA, including topics related to CEFITEC's research expertise, giving students first-hand contact with the centre’s research activities.

CEFITEC also regularly participates in annual open days, such as EXPO FCT, an event organized by FCT NOVA that constitutes a showcase of activities in the areas of science and engineering, providing opportunities to help pre-university students to make informed choices about their future studies.
