Research Areas

My research activities lie in the field of Atomic and Molecular Physics. In particular, I am investigating the molecular processes that take place upon collisions of different projectiles with gaseous molecular targets. My main contributions come from the instrumental and application sides. I have been developing and improving different state-of-the-art experimental setup. I have also performed several experiments involving electron scattering, electron transfer, and superoxide anions (O2-) collisions using these experimental systems. Even though my main research line is related to basic science, it is also motivated by the role of such collisions in biological, and more recently, in astrophysical environments. Additionally, I have taken part in joint experimental and theoretical studies on the electronic excited states of different molecules as probed by VUV photoabsorption spectroscopy. I am currently the main developer of a state-of-the-art magnetically confined electron beam-transmission system considered as one of the most accurate within the field.
