A call is open for a research grant to a non-doctoral researcher for the project 16NRM05 Towards a documentary standard for an ionisation vacuum gauge under the following conditions:

Field of study: Physics Engineering

Admission requirements: Master in Physical Engineering or Physics, with curricular training in Vacuum technology and  charged particles optics.

Work plan:

The fellow will participate in the simulation of new designs of ionization gauges and in the investigation of materials suitable for their construction. The following properties of the materials will be investigated: ion induced secondary electron yield, ion desorption, neutral desorption, and soft X-ray production yield.

Applicable laws and regulations:

Law no. 40/2004, of 18 August (Stat Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica); Regulations for Advanced Training and Qualification of Human Resources in 2010.

Workplace:

The work will be developed at the Science Laboratory CEFITEC Surfaces, Faculty of Science and Technology, University Nova of Lisbon under the supervision of Professor Orlando Teodoro and Dr. Nenad Bundaleski.

Duration:

The grant will have the duration of 12 months, starting on 1 October 2017.

Value of monthly maintenance allowance:

The amount of the grant corresponds to € 980, according to the table of the grants awarded directly by the FCT values, I.P. in the country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

Methods of selection:

The following selection methods will be used: Curriculum evaluation (100%). Jury may decide to interview the candidates; in such case CV evaluation shall weight 60% and the interview 40%.

Form of advertising / notification of results:

The evaluation of the final results will be publicized through alphabetized list posted visible on the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology and the candidate approved notified by of e-mail.

The call is open in the period of 11 to 25 September.
