Research Topic: Metrology to Support Ammonia Use in Emerging Applications
Resume:
My research grant includes activities within the scope of the European project METNH3Energy, supporting the development of the metrological infrastructure for detecting and calibrating ammonia leaks at very low levels, including the manufacture and characterisation of reference leaks (10-6 - 10-4 Std.cm3/s) and support for their calibration in collaboration with PTB. The work involves experimental assembly, stability testing, and uncertainty analysis of the artefacts, as well as the evaluation of alternative detection methods (commercial sensors and pH indicators). I also play an active role in preparing good practice guides, technical reports, and field trials, ensuring the metrological traceability of measurements and contributing to the study of NH3 adsorption/desorption effects on the surfaces of different materials.
