PhD project: Micro-mesoporous Biochar for Environment Application: Recycling and Treatment

Resume:

I am a PhD student in Physics of Nanomaterials, Nano-Objects, and Energy at the University of Souk Ahras, Algeria, and I conduct my research at LEREC Laboratory, University of Annaba, Algeria. My research focuses on the development of sustainable biomass-derived Biochar-based adsorbent materials for environmental remediation, particularly for wastewater treatment.

I received my Master's degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Souk Ahras in 2020.

My doctoral work is centered on the synthesis and characterization of micro/mesoporous activated biochar produced from different biomass through chemical/physical activation. The research activities are performed in the removal of emerging contaminants and synthetic dyes from wastewater. The ultimate goal is to develop efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly adsorbents for sustainable water treatment and pollution control.

I have presented my research results at several international scientific conferences, including the 2nd World Conference on Multidisciplinary Research & Innovation (WCMRI 2023), Singapore; the International Conference on Technological Applications of Materials (ICTAM'24), Sétif, Algeria; the 24th International Forum of Applied Sciences and Innovation (ASI-Sousse 2024), Sousse, Tunisia; and the 27th International Forum of Applied Sciences and Innovation (ASI-Monastir 2025), Tunisia.
