PhD Thesis: "Exploring dynamic structures of bionanocages"

The aim of this proposal is to fully characterize the protein cages and their interaction with relevant macromolecules, using structural tools such as Circular Dichroism (CD) and Synchrotron Radiation Circular Dichroism (SRCD) spectroscopies, Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) or Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, using chimeric variants and chemical modified proteins, both external surface and inner cavity will be optimized for synthesis of specially designed nanoparticles such as magnetoprotein and enzyme-mimicking nanoparticles with biomedical or biosensing applications.
