Research Areas

The current scientific activities carried out within the Centre laboratory facilities in the field of Applied Physics are the production and characterization of functional molecular films of organic molecules with relevant properties for specific applications as in the areas of electronics, photonics, and biosensor devices. Among other molecules and molecular systems envisaged are, polymers with particular featured properties as nonlinear-optics, electrical conduction, luminescent, polyectectrolytes, dendrimers, synthetic and natural dyes. In the field of Biomedical Sciences actual work stresses on the study of thin film sensors for clinical diagnosis; development of automatic astigmatism calculus procedures for cataract surgery customization and development of biomedical apparatus.
